Accompanying four students to Toronto for the Rotman International Trading Competition (RITC) last weekend, advisor and finance professor Ryan Davies earned an honor of his own!
On the first night of the competition Ryan attended a "social" open outcry trading session in which faculty members and sponsors of the competition have the opportunity to compete against the students prior to the official events.
Ryan had the highest faculty score, winning the opportunity to ring the opening bell at the Toronto Stock Exchange along with event organizers, several students and sponsors. Ryan is on the far right in the back row of the photo.
The opening of the stock exchange was broadcast live on Canadian TV business channels.
The Babson students placed 7th out of 34 teams from the U.S., Canada, Europe and Asia. Team members were Howard Soyfer, B'09; Noj Zachariah (MBA); Jeff Liguori (MBA); and David Peltier (MBA). Read the press release about the RITC results here.
