Policies and Procedures

The Office of Academic Services provides many opportunities for students to perform important tasks that are essential to their student experience.  In addition, the office helps students understand all the appropriate College policies so informed decisions can me made.

E-Forms

Exam Excuse Form

A student may be excused by Academic Services from an examination if they meet the criteria outlined in the Undergraduate Catalog and Handbook. Criteria include, but are not limited to, a serious illness, death in the immediate family, observance of a religious holiday, and NCAA intercollegiate athletic events. All students who will miss an examination must submit this form to Academic Services prior to the exam.

Petition for Cross Enrollment

Please fill out this form if you are interested in enrolling in any of the five host institutions: Franklin W. Olin College of Engineering, Brandeis University, Pine Manor College, Regis College, or Wellesley College course offerings. Note: All classes taken through cross enrollment are awarded a grade as well as credit. Click here for the full policy.

Petition for Variance

Complete this form if you would like to over or under load your courses. Also, please use this form if you are interested in enriching a course. Click here for the full policy.

Petition for Independent Research

Fill out this form if you would like to petition for an independent research project. This form and accompanying proposal are due to the supervising faculty no later than the last day of classes of the term preceding the one in which the project is to be completed.

Off-Campus Approval Form

Complete this form and attach course description(s) or syllabi for each new course to the e-form before submitting your request.

Separation Form

Fill out this form if you plan to withdraw from Babson or take a leave of absence. You must meet with your class dean prior to withdrawing from the College or taking a leave.
