Need Help with backing up your computer's data?
If you haven’t yet been affected by a serious computer problem, chances are very high that you will be in the near future. For this reason, it is absolutely essential to not only back up your important data but also that you back up on a regular basis. The ITSD team works hard to ensure the safety of your data. That being said, hard drive crashes, operating system errors and other computer problems make data retrieval impossible in some circumstances.
Backups should be done on a regular schedule. Weekly backups are suggested for most end users. If you have questions on backing up your data, please contact the Support Center at X4357. Listed below are instructions on using the CD-RW drive in your ThinkPad computer as well as USB Thumb Drive instructions. Those are not the only means in which data archiving is possible. You should explore all possibilities until you discover which way works best for you.
Whatever method you choose to backup data, confirm your data is visible ON ANOTHER MACHINE.
