Setting up Mac Mail to access Babson E-Mail

Configure Mac Mail to Read Babson E-Mail

  1. On the Go menu, select Applications and click on 'Mail'.
  2. The Welcome to Mail window appears. Click 'Continue'.

  3. Fill in the following information below and click 'Continue'.

    - The Account Type is IMAP
    - Enter your full name and Email address in the text boxes


  4. Enter the 'Incoming Mail Server' and click 'Continue'.

    For Incoming Mail Server: mail.babson.edu

    In the User Name and Password boxes, enter your Babson username and password

  5. Enter the Outgoing Mail Server and click Continue.

    For Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP): mail.babson.edu

  6. Click 'Continue'.

  7. Click 'Done'.

  8. From the 'Mail' menu, select 'Preferences' option

  9. The Accounts window opens. Click the Accounts icon at the top of the window. Select your Babson account from the accounts list on the left and click the Server Settings button on the bottom right hand corner.

  10. The SMTP Server Options window opens, make sure that the 'Server Port' is set to 25. Check the box next to 'Uncheck the SecureSocketsLayer (SSL). In the Authentication drop down menu, select 'Password'. Type your Babson username and password in the Username and Password text boxes and click 'OK' to return to the Accounts window.

  11. In the Accounts window, click the 'Advanced' tab.

    In the Advanced section of the Accounts window, check the 'Use SSL' box. In the Authentication drop-down menu, select Password.
