Intensive Electives

Intensive Elective courses 1.5 credit elective courses and typically take place over a Friday evening and two full Saturdays with some pre-work and post-work. They are typically offered over the winter break, spring break, and summer sessions. For more information, please visit: http://www3.babson.edu/offices/registrar/grad/intensive_electives.cfm .

Independent research

Independent research provides an opportunity for One Year students with 15 or more credits to conduct in-depth investigations in areas of specific interest selected by the student. An Independent Research Study can be worth either 1.5 or 3 credits, and a maximum of 6 credits can be earned in this manner.  Independent research is an individual effort and may be undertaken for academic credit with the prior approval of a faculty advisor selected by the student, the appropriate division chair, and Graduate Programs and Student Affairs.  Authorization requires submission of a formal proposal written in accordance with the standards set forth by the F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business. Detailed information as well as an “Independent Research Proposal Guide” can be requested through Graduate Programs and Student Affairs, or downloaded Independent Research Project.
