SPRING 2008 INTENSIVE ELECTIVE

ACC9510: STRATEGIC COST ANALYSIS

Payment for This Course is Due: January 16, 2008
 
Registering for ACC9510: Registration for Intensive Electives will take place through online course registration. Students with the greatest number of earned credits, thus closer to graduation, will register first. Students will be notified of their registration dates via their Babson email account. After add/drop closes on Wednesday, January 30th, if a space becomes available in this course, students must email intensiveelectives@babson.edu to register for it. These emails will be processed on a first-come-first-serve basis and we will not retain emails for future consideration.

Class meets all week on line with Final Wrap Up on Saturday, April 5  

Class meets all week on line with Final Wrap Up on Saturday, April 12  

Class meets all week on line with Final Wrap Up on Saturday, April 19   

Class meets Face to Face on campus on Saturday, April 26 from  9:00am – 5:00 p.m. with a 1.5 hour

Time Conflicts: Students are responsible to check the meeting dates for all Intensive Electives. If a student is registered for Intensive Electives that have conflicting dates and times, the Registrar’s Office will drop one of the these courses.

Drop Date: To drop an Intensive Elective after add/drop ends on Wednesday, January 30th, students must email intensiveelectives@babson.edu before midnight of the day of the first class meeting.

Capacity: 35

A continuation of ACC 7010, MBA 8530 or SCS in Module Three. Management problems which require explicit attention to cost analysis, with strategy always in mind, are covered. Topics include ABC and ABM, target cost, value chains, life cycle costing, and customer value analysis.

Prerequisite: (ACC7000 & ACC7010) or (MBA8510 & MBA8530) or completion of one-year or two-year modules
