Gender Studies Concentration
The Gender Studies Concentration provides a theoretical framework for examining issues of gender. Courses encourage students to explore the limitations of stereotypical gender constructions and to investigate the historical and sociological contexts of market and workforce trends. Although gender is the main focus, class discussions also address other social categories, including race, class, and sexual orientation. While discussions tend to be academic in focus, content has pragmatic applications to multiple career fields, including advertising, human resources/recruiting, and marketing.
Several concentrations complement course work in Gender Studies. These concentrations include Marketing, Global Business Management, International Business Environment, and Entrepreneurship.
