Assistant Coach (Higher Education) Assists the head coach in the activities of an athletic team for a major sport. Assists head coach in instruction and analysis of student athletes. Critiques players' performance to determine skills and abilities that need strengthening for overall team improvement. Provides skill demonstrations of sport coached. Must be familiar with NCAA rules and regulations. May require a bachelor's degree in physical education and 4-6 years of coaching experience. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Athletics Director (Higher Education) Directs all facets of a university/college's athletic program, including intramural and intercollegiate sports. Manages the entire coaching staff.
