Virtual Practice Interview To support students in their efforts to improve their interviewing skills, the Undergraduate Center for Career Development has purchased an interactive interview system –InterviewStream. Carefully read the information below, paying particular attention to the Usage Policy.
| USAGE POLICY
The Undergraduate Center for Career Development staff (CCD) advises students to use this software as a tool for improving their interview skills. The InterviewStream software does not prohibit students from sharing their practice interviews via email with multiple constituents such as faculty, employers, alumni, and other networking contacts. If students send InterviewStream videos to these constituents, they should be respectful of the commitments that faculty, employers, and alumni manage. Students who wish to receive feedback regarding their InterviewStream video are encouraged to schedule an appointment with a CCD staff member. The InterviewStream videos should not be used as a substitute for face-to-face interviews or without appropriate feedback. |
You may conduct your virtual practice interview from home (a web cam is required) or schedule a virtual practice interview via the web (see below) and then visit CCD to record your practice interview. Conducting a Virtual Practice Interview from your Residence Hall or Home:

Scheduling a Virtual Practice Interview

Features of the InterviewStream System - Students can conduct a virtual practice interview from their residence hall or home or schedule a virtual practice interview at their convenience via the web.
- Students may schedule an unlimited number of practice interviews.
- Students may select which interview questions they would like to practice or they may choose to respond to a random set of questions.
- Interviews are scheduled for 30 minutes.
- Following the interview, an email will be sent to your email account. The email will include the URL for accessing the interview. Students, in turn, have the ability to email their interview to CCD staff, faculty, and other contacts.
Viewing & Emailing Your Practice Interview
You can view your practice interview from any web-enabled computer. Steps for Viewing & Emailing Your Interview:
- After you complete your practice interview, you will receive an email from InterviewStream. The email will provide a URL for accessing your interview. You can view your practice interview from any web-enabled computer.
- Click on the URL provided in the email you received from InterviewStream. You will be directed to a screen that displays your profile on the left hand side and videos (sorted by date you created your InterviewStream video) on the right hand side.
- To view the video, click on the date you created your InterviewStream video and select which question(s) you would like to view.
- To email your InterviewStream video, click on “Send Interview”, complete the appropriate boxes, preview your email, and click “Send.” Be certain to include a message to your recipient in the “Cover Letter (optional)” text box.
After You Complete Your Virtual Practice Interview If you would like to receive feedback regarding your InterviewStream video, stop by the CCD front desk after you complete your virtual practice interview to schedule an appointment with a CCD staff member.
- Email your interview to the CCD staff member with whom you have a scheduled appointment at least 48 hours prior to your appointment.
- Meet with a CCD staff member as scheduled.
