Mission:
The Parents Council consists of parents of undergraduate students dedicated to expanding opportunities at Babson College by raising funds to support programs vital to the overall success of the Babson student and by strengthening the connection between the College and the parent community.

Membership Responsibilities:
Babson Parents Council members serve a two-year renewable term and participate in the following ways.

Lead by example, with an annual philanthropic contribution at the President’s Society giving level of $1919 or greater. The financial support of parents is vital for Babson to continue to offer its students the most innovative business education.  Your support is crucial and we appreciate your willingness to rank Babson among your philanthropic priorities.

• Attend two Parents Council meetings per year, if possible.*  These meetings offer the chance to interact with senior College leadership and fellow Council members.  This is also an opportunity to participate in discussions about the College’s parent outreach strategies and for the College to receive valuable feedback from representatives of the parent community.
• Educate fellow Babson parents about the importance of philanthropic support and help to solicit charitable donations on behalf of The Fund for Babson.  Typically, 3-5 parent prospects are assigned to willing Council volunteers in each of two outreach campaigns in the fall and spring semesters.
• Represent the Parents Council at Babson events in your area.  By serving as an informal “roving ambassador” of the College, you can help to build the relationship between Babson and its parent community.  You can also opt to list your name on our website as a resource for prospective or current parents who may have questions. 
• Consider hosting an event in your home or other venue.  Events you could host to support Babson might include a gathering of a small group of prospective students and family members or a dinner for a local group of current and past Babson parents. 

*The fall meeting will be held Saturday, October 18, 2008 in conjunction with Family Weekend and the spring meeting will be held in conjunction with Founder’s Day in April.
