Welcome to a new season with a wonderful mix of both familiar and new music. Leonard Bernstein’s energetic Candid Overture and Aaron Copland’s reverential Lincoln Portrait, narrated by Peter Ross, will move you in very different ways. The winner of our New England Student Composer Competition, Hayato Hirose, will evoke the warmth of Norman Rockwell’s paintings uniquely capturing scenes of every day American life with the world premiere of his Norman Rockwell Suite. A representative of the Norman Rockwell Museum in Stockbridge will give a fascinating pre-concert talk.
