Babson Family Enterprising Association
Founded by graduate students in 2005, the BFEA is a student-run organization chartered for students to share ideas and develop networks focused specifically on family business. Our mission is to foster learning among students with family businesses and provide students with an avenue to discuss challenges, opportunities and matters around family factors that either constrain or enhance strategic advantage.

Sample BFEA Events
Student Speaker Series | Our most popular series event, this series is designed to provide a way for students to present their business to other students. Typically lasting about a half-hour, students informally discuss on a family issue. Conversations are two-way, and generally focus on family/management/ownership matters rather than simply a show-and-tell. This is both a networking opportunity and a way to get feedback. They are generally planned to occur on a monthly basis. |
| Dinner and a Movie | The BFEA arranges for a movie screening on campus. The movie screened will be related with family businesses and a professor will moderate a discussion around the movie.
Usually One such event is held per semester.
|
| BFEA Cocktail Reception | A cocktail reception is held along with the School of Family Enterprising where Professor Habbershon, Students and families of a course and the members of the club meet for a healthy informal discussion around the topic of the course.
|
BFEA Speaker Series | The BFEA locates and sponsors several speakers from outside Babson to facilitate a dialogue regarding a specific theme in the realm of family ownership-management. |
Pub Night | An unmoderated informal social gathering for people with an interest in family business. |
