From the BBA Charter: 

Section 1 - The name of this organization shall be the Babson Buyout Association, also known and referred to as the BBA.

Section 2 - The purpose of this association shall be to (1) educate its members in the subject of buying a company or enterprise through speakers, panels, forums and other educational events, (2) provide extended access to related companies and professionals within M&A, Private Equity, and Corporate Development, (3) through these means place its members in these industries while growing and strengthening its own network of members and BBA alumni.
