How to Request a Web Site

 

  1. A student organization or club should contact the Office of Campus LIfe to identify their desire to build a web site.

  2. Campus Life will work with the organization or club to make sure that all their paperwork is in place and that the group has read the terms and conditions of having a web site on the Babson College servers.

  3. Campus Life will send to ITSD the following information:
    • The name of the organization or club
    • The desired Subsite name for the organization (i.e. babson_players vs. players vs. babsonplayers)
    • A short two sentence description of the organization or club
    • Two User ID’s for the people responsible for maintaining the web page.

  4. ITSD will set up the shell of the site and add the appropriate users to the CommonSpot system.

  5. ITSD will send an e-mail to the two users giving them the URL of the site as well as the Student Organization Quick Start Guide so that they can begin adding content immediately.

  6. Once the organization feels they are ready to go live with the site they will notify Campus Life to obtain approval.

  7. Campus Life will notify ITSD that the site has the green light to go live and ITSD will activate the site.

  8. It is the responsibility of the organization to keep the website up to date and current. Sites that are not updated on a regular basis may be removed.
