"Standing on the Shoulders of Giants"
First Year - Senior Retreat
This fall, members of the Class of 2012 will have the opportunity to take advantage of an exciting endeavor sponsored by the Office of Academic Services- our first ever First Year-Senior Retreat!
"It was Sir Isaac Newton who first said, 'If I have seen further than others, it is by standing upon the shoulders of giants.'- a lot of his works were created by assessing the theories of his predecessors (and even writing them over to understand them) and testing them, experimenting with them." (www.knowprose.com) It is with this idea in mind that participants will have the opportunity to hear from those who have come before them, mentors from the Class of 2009. Participants will gain insight into what these seniors have learned about their college experience and what they wish they had known during their first year at Babson. Participants will be provided the time an space to discuss their aspirations for their college experience, reflect on the thoughts of the seniors and of fellow participants, and build connections with fellow students.
This one day retreat will be held on Friday, October 24th at the Warren Conference Center in Ashland, MA. Transportation and meals will be provided. Space will be limited to the first 25 respondents, and a deposit of $25 will be required to attend this retreat.
An information table regarding this retreat will be staffed at check-in during Orientation (in Knight Auditorium). Please feel free to stop by to chat with the retreat committee, and/or to pick up a brochure and registration materials. Also, be on the lookout for more details (including registration materials) which will be sent to you via email at a future date. If you have any questions regarding this retreat, feel free to contact your Class Dean, Pamela Solomon, or Michele Brown in academic services.
