During his business career, Dr. Halsey managed the commercial lending division of a large Midwestern bank, and served as the Chief Financial Officer of a privately-held retailing and manufacturing company. Prior to joining the faculty of Babson College, Dr. Halsey taught at the University of Wisconsin–Madison where he received the Douglas Clarke Memorial teaching award.
His teaching and research interests are in the area of financial reporting and include firm valuation, financial statement analysis, and disclosure issues. Dr. Halsey is the author Advanced Financial Accounting (forthcoming in 2009 by Cambridge Business Publishers), and is a co-author of Financial Accounting for MBAs, 3rd. ed. (Cambridge Business Publishers), MBA Financial & Managerial Accounting (Cambridge Business Publishers), and Financial Statement Analysis, 9th ed. (McGraw-Hill). He has published in Advances in Quantitative Analysis of Finance and Accounting, The Journal of the American Taxation Association, and Issues in Accounting Education.
