Dr. Nan S. Langowitz
Associate Professor of Management and Entrepreneurship

Dr. Nan Langowitz is Associate Professor of Management and Entrepreneurship at Babson College and served as the Founding Director of Babson’s Center for Women's Leadership, the first comprehensive center dedicated to advancing women in business and entrepreneurship at a leading school of management.  Her research is focused on the entrepreneurial leadership of women as well as the challenges and opportunities for organizations seeking to leverage the talent and market power of women.  Professor Langowitz currently teaches the Managerial Assessment and Development and Leadership courses in Babson’s MBA program, which has been ranked #1 for opportunities for women by Princeton Review for several years.

Professor Langowitz is the author of numerous scholarly journal articles, research monographs, and cases and has been quoted in leading media outlets such as Business Week, Fast Company, and USA Today.  She has over twenty years of experience in executive development design and delivery, having worked as a consultant, researcher, and educator with organizations ranging from complex global corporations to new start-up ventures.  She has also served on corporate and non-profit boards.  Dr. Langowitz is co-Faculty Director for the Women’s Program at Babson Executive Education, ranked #2 for its faculty by The Financial Times, where she also teaches in the Leadership and Influence Program. In the classroom and through speaking engagements, Professor Langowitz brings her expertise on women’s leadership, professional development, and managing change to both organizations and individuals.

Professor Langowitz earned her doctorate at Harvard Business School and holds an MBA from New York University and a BA from Cornell University. In 2002, she was awarded the prestigious Abigail Adams Award by the Massachusetts Women's Political Caucus, for outstanding commitment to the realization of equal political, economic, and social rights for women.  In 2007, Babson College honored her by renaming the pre-existing campus-wide award the “Nan Langowitz Women Who Make a Difference Award.”  She lives nearby Boston with her husband and three children.
