Dr. Michaud has over 25 years experience in the private sector including investment banking, project finance, financial management and strategic planning. He was a founder or cofounder of five corporate start-ups, two which went public. He has been a visiting assistant professor of economics for five years at Brown University where he taught courses in international finance and trade, corporate strategy, corporate governance, and international negotiations. He continues to lead the corporate governance research program at Brown. He also served as a senior policy advisor to the Rhode Island Economic Development Corporation where he develop a new corporate mission statement, corporate by-laws, and board of director best practices for RIEDC’s industrial development subsidiary. His research interests and publications focus on corporate governance and strategy. He has published in the Journal of Strategic Management Education, and Social Science Research Network. He is currently writing a book on corporate board leadership.
