Professor Ansari has many years of experience in teaching, scholarly research, and consulting. He is an internationally known scholar in the area of behavioral and cultural aspects of management accounting, strategy, control, and change management. He has published numerous papers, monographs, and books. His most recent publication includes a book titled Hitting the Target: An Implementation Guide for Target Costing published by the Consortium for Advanced Manufacturing International (CAM-I).  

Professor Ansari has served in variety of academic administrative positions including chair of accounting area at UCLA, chair of the university senate budget committee at CSUN and member of the university’s budget planning and advisory board. Professor Ansari's has consulted with a wide variety of organizations and testified as a cost expert in lawsuits. Prior to joining Babson, Professor Ansari has taught in graduate and undergraduate programs at UCLA, NYU, and the Naval Postgraduate School. He has also been a Visiting Faculty at INSEAD, Macquarie University, Pretoria University, USC, the Shell Learning Center in Houston and Holland, Rice University and Darden School (UVA). Professor Ansari has won several awards and honors for distinguished teaching during his career. He has also received CAM-I’s  “Bob Bonsack Award for “Distinguished Contribution to the Advancement of Cost Management., and the Institute of Management Accountants’ “Jim Bulloch Innovation in Management Accounting Education Award”.
