Interviews at Babson
Interviews are an excellent opportunity to have a one-on-one conversation with an admission counselor or student admission intern so that we can get to know you in person prior to beginning the application review process.
If you choose to interview with us you should be prepared to talk about yourself and your interest in Babson, and bring any questions you would like to discuss. A summary of our conversation with you will become part of your admission file and can be influential in the decision we make.
There is no suggested dress code for the interview, but you should remember that this may be your first and only one-on-one meeting with a member of our admission staff.
While we enjoy getting to know our applicants during the interview process, we realize that not everyone is able to schedule an interview; for this reason, students who choose not to schedule an interview will not be penalized in our admission process. As an alternative to on-campus or alumni interviews, applicants from China have the option to schedule an interview through InitialView.com.
We respectfully request that your interview be scheduled prior to your arrival on campus to ensure that we have someone available to meet with you. Interviews can be scheduled by calling the Office of Undergraduate Admission toll-free (within the U.S.) at 800-488-3696 or at 781-239-5522.
On-campus interviews for students interested in applying to Babson for Fall 2016 are available April 1 through November 6, 2015.
Interviews are strongly recommended for prospective transfer students. Interviews for students interested in transferring for the Spring Semester (beginning January 2016) will be available through October 15, 2015.
We are pleased to offer first-year applicants the opportunity to interview with Babson alumni. Students interested in an alumni interview will have the
option to select to participate on their Babson College admission application
(either through the Common Application or Babson Innovators Application.)
A student will be contacted by an alumnus shortly after the admission deadline
to which they applied for to set up the interview. Alumni Interviews can
be conducted either in-person, through Skype, or via telephone. In-person
interviews will take place at a mutually agreed upon time and place with no
interview occurring at an alumnus’ personal home. Interviews will be
offered to Early Decision, Early Action, and Regular Decision candidates.
Students applying for the Regular Decision deadline living
in the following markets will have the opportunity to participate in an
Interview Day in their local city: Los Angeles, San Francisco, Miami,
Boston, and New York City. Students in these cities will be invited to
interview in January 2016 with Babson alumni at a specific location.
Information about the date and location of these interviews will be sent out
following the Regular Decision (January 4) deadline.
Please know that while Babson’s alumni network is quite
extensive, there may be instances where we are not able to accommodate a
request for an interview with a Babson alumnus. Every effort will be made
to accommodate as many students as possible.
