Babson Faculty and Administrative Writing
Babson faculty and administrators write on a variety of subjects. Many Babson faculty members have websites which list their most recent and significant publications. Many of these author’s books can be found in the Horn Library Catalog or through Interlibrary Loan.
The Babson College Archives is home to a new non-circulating collection called Babson Authors which is listed in the Horn Library Catalog under location “BAB Archives: Babson Authors.”
Working papers are good resources for reports of Babson-sponsored research. Early drafts of articles and chapters of monographs can occasionally be found in working papers. Babson has two main sources for support that generate working papers: the Babson Faculty Research Fund, and the Center for Information Management Studies (CIMS). Check the Horn Library catalog for recent Working Papers. CIMS Working Papers can be purchased from the CIMS office (Babson Hall 323). Both CIMS and Board of Research Working Papers can be viewed at the Babson College Archives.
Babson Administrators have been columnists for the student press since President Hinckley's "Our Mutual Enterprise" in the early days of the Babson Beaver. A current example of administrators speaking directly to students can be seen in Undergraduate Dean Dennis Hanno's "The View from Hollister 112" which began in last year's Babson Free Press.
Another columnist is is George Recck. George (BS 1982, MBA 1984) has worn many hats in his years at Babson. He is the Director of the Math Resource Center and teaches statistics in both the graduate and undergraduate programs. From 1987 to 1989 he wrote occasional pieces called "Recck's Ramblings."
Faculty Meeting Minutes are available to faculty and interested staff. From your Babson email account look for "Faculty Meeting Minutes" on the "K" drive under folder "Perm."Babson faculty write cases for classroom use which are published through Babson College Case Publishing
