Leadership Programs Babson offers the following special programs to help students take advantage of additional learning opportunities:
The Coaching for Leadership and Teamwork Program (CLTP) was designed to develop students’ interpersonal and leadership skills. Coaches consisting of alumni, parents, graduate students, and staff take you through exercises dealing with ethics and problems that businesses encounter. After working through the cases together while being observed, you will meet one-on-one with the coaches to receive confidential feedback. No grades. Just real-world awareness, connection, and networking.
The Honors Program is designed to enrich the experience of exceptional students by studying with other top students in specially-designed courses and projects. Students are chosen at the end of their first year based on their academic record, or during the application review process. Presidential Scholars are invited to join the honors program at the end of their first year. Honors students must maintain at least a 3.3 GPA; they take intellectually challenging courses; and complete an international experience, such as junior year abroad or an international internship, and complete a two-semester honors project.
The Management Consulting Field Experience (MCFE) allows students to apply business principles learned in the classroom to real-world consulting projects. Acting as a consulting group, students meet with the client, analyze problems, and explore solutions. Each team consists of three to five students and is managed by an MBA student and supervised by a faculty member. MCFE is an opportunity for students to put their core competencies into action, gaining practical experience in negotiating, group dynamics, organization, planning, and other management challenges. The project concludes with a report and a presentation to the sponsor company.
The Posse Program is a scholarship provided in partnership with The Posse Foundation. The foundation identifies, recruits, and trains exceptional youth leaders from urban public high schools, and sends these groups as “posses” to top colleges and universities in this country. These leadership scholars who are likely to be overlooked for college admission at the most selective colleges and universities have a national graduation rate of 94 percent. Babson became the first business school in the nation to join the Posse Program and works specifically with Posse's New York City chapter. The first Babson “posse”of 11 students arrived on campus in the fall of 2004 and 100% of them graduated in May 2008. Attending the College not only makes a difference for each new class of Posse students, but also enriches the rest of the student body and the community at large.
The Weissman Scholarship Program provides scholars sufficient financial support so they are free to develop their unique talents. At the core of the full-tuition scholarship program are opportunities for stipends that allow scholars to choose from or create their own diverse and personalized experience. Weissman Scholars are seen as leaders in the classroom and in the community, making significant contributions to life at Babson and beyond.
The Women’s Leadership Program is an exceptional opportunity for a select group of highly motivated students to further build their leadership skills. Created and overseen by The Center for Women’s Leadership at Babson, the program provides enhanced leadership development, networking, and mentoring opportunities to enhance the educational experience of selected undergraduate women. | Undergraduate Admission |
