Applying to Babson

Babson College

Babson offers three application plans for first-year applicants: Early Decision, Early Action, and Regular Decision. All applicants are encouraged to submit their applications online via the Common Application web site. Due to the unique nature of our first-year curriculum, we do not enroll first-year students to begin their studies in the spring semester; all first-year students enter Babson in the fall.

Early Decision

Babson’s Early Decision (ED) plan allows students who have chosen Babson as their top choice college to apply early and learn of their decisions in mid-December. Admitted students can enjoy the remainder of their senior year with the admission process behind them. ED applicants agree to enroll at Babson, if admitted, and are eligible to apply to other colleges’ non-binding early admission programs. Students may only apply ED to one college and, if admitted, must immediately withdraw all applications submitted to other institutions. Because of the strength of our ED pool, some qualified students not admitted through the ED plan may be deferred to the Regular Decision (RD) round; however, students denied during the ED process are not eligible to reapply.

Application Deadline: November 1

Notification: December 15

Deposit due: January 15

Early Action

Babson’s non-binding Early Action (EA) plan is designed for applicants who view Babson as one of their top choices. Students admitted through EA can enjoy the remainder of their senior year exploring Babson more in depth and have until May 1st to make their college choice. EA applicants are eligible to apply to other colleges’ early admission programs. Qualified students not admitted to Babson through the EA plan may be deferred to the Regular Decision round for reconsideration; however, students denied during the EA process are not eligible to reapply.

Application Deadline: November 1

Notification: January 1

Deposit due: May 1

Regular Decision

Regular Decision is the most popular of Babson’s admission plans. Last year, nearly two-thirds of admitted students were admitted through RD. Admitted students learn of their decisions by early April and have until May 1st to make their decisions.

Application Deadline: January 15

Notification: By April 1

Deposit due: May 1

Please indicate on your application which decision plan you have chosen.
