Parents

Babson College

We know there’s a lot to think about in the college search process and that parents and guardians are an integral part of this search. Upon your student’s inquiry with Babson, we will periodically send you communications to help you get to know Babson better … from a parent’s perspective.

You will receive information that includes, but is not limited to, information outlining all the financial aid, scholarship, and loan options available to make our tuition and fees affordable; updates on our college visit programs, conducted on campus as well as in many regions throughout the world; and guides to help you understand your role in the transition from high school to college. Please let us know if there are other resources, insights, and tips that you would find helpful.

Another Parent’s Perspective

One of Babson’s greatest assets is the ongoing support it receives from the parents of undergraduates. Babson parents are enthusiastic, interested, involved, and accessible. Our Parents Council chairs have expressed their willingness to be contacted by Babson parents seeking another parent’s perspective on the Babson parent experience. Please feel free to contact the Parents Council chairs or Babson staff member listed below.

Crisis Communications

In 2007, Babson College implemented a rapid notification service to improve our communications capabilities in the event of a serious campus crisis or emergency. The College partners with Send Word Now—a real time emergency notification system that allows the College to communicate with our students, faculty, and staff during serious campus crises such as public health emergencies, serious campus emergencies or incidents, and other catastrophic events. Using the Send Word Now platform, the College has the capability to simultaneously broadcast emergency messages via telephone, e-mail, cell phone, and text messaging with information that will be critical to campus safety. In compliance with the Clery Act, campus security information is available.  Paper copies are available at the Babson College Office of Public Safety.

Parent to Parent

During a past Student Orientation, Susan McQuaid P’06 offered some "words of wisdom" for incoming parents. She made suggestions about expectations, offering advice, giving space, and being supportive. View Susan’s "Top Ten."
