On Babson’s Approach to Teaching “Experiential learning is the most effective way to learn. Reading books and taking exams can force a student to memorize facts, but the truest form of learning comes when independence and autonomy are thrown into the mix. Babson allows students to think openly and independently about the path that many of their projects take. The group work and entrepreneurial edge to assignments allowed me to recognize numerous opportunities. The freshmen FME program was my first taste of learning by doing. After a while, it becomes second nature. It becomes who you are as a businessperson.”
On Relationship Building “I’m passionate about building relationships. I find that my greatest source of learning comes through the stories and experiences I hear from those around me. For many passionate entrepreneurs, Babson is the heartbeat for idea generation. It seems as though everyone around me was constantly thinking about creative and innovative ways to fulfill their dreams and change the world. The positive energy created from these relationships has allowed me to find confidence in my own ideas, and in my own life.”
On Global Perspectives “Being from the Northeast, I was happy to hear about the vast international population at Babson. I learned more Spanish in my freshmen year speaking with new friends than I did in four years of high school. The global marketplace is only expanding and it’s crucial that students have this experience to prepare for it.”
Most Proud Of “What I’ve been most happy about is my ability to recognize my own personal growth in college. Babson has allowed me to find my own set of values. I have always admired people who are confident, comfortable with their emotions, and display a connection with personal morals and values. It wasn’t until recently that I realized this mind-set. It is a great feeling to have confidence for your future. I know that no matter what field of business I decide to delve into, that I have the tools to find fulfillment. Babson was able to open up many doors and opportunities for me.” | Undergraduate Admission |
