Merit ScholarshipsMerit-based scholarship awards are based on the exceptional academic achievement and the leadership experience of applicants. All applicants to Babson are eligible for our merit scholarships, regardless of whether they apply under Early Decision, Early Action, or Regular Decision.
Diversity Leadership Awards Diversity Leadership Awards are four-year merit scholarships awarded to those students with the greatest potential for leadership in creating a richly diverse Babson community. Awards are valued at either full- or half-tuition.
Diversity Leadership Awards do not require a separate application. Award recipients are chosen by a scholarship selection committee, based on admission application materials. Criteria include demonstrated leadership and academic achievement. Award recipients receive mentoring and special leadership development opportunities.
Presidential Scholarships Presidential Scholarships recognize the outstanding academic and cocurricular achievements of Babson’s most accomplished applicants. They are invited to join the prestigious Honors Program provided they meet the requirements established by Honors Council. Presidential Scholars receive a merit-based scholarship valued at half-tuition for each of their four years at Babson as long as they maintain a minimum 3.0 grade point average and are invited to join Babson's prestigious Honors Program.
Students do not apply for Presidential Scholarships. Each year, a faculty committee selects a small number of candidates from our applicant pool. Students are chosen on the basis of their high-school record, cocurricular achievements, demonstrated leadership, writing skills, and standardized test scores. Approximately 30 students enroll at Babson each year as Presidential Scholars.
Weissman Scholarship Program “The Weissman” recognizes students who have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement and leadership, as well as a passion for intellectual, creative and entrepreneurial pursuits. It is a full-tuition scholarship and also offers financial support for research, stipends for travel, and seed money to start a venture or pursue a global service project. Only first-year applicants are eligible for the scholarship.
For renewal, students will be required to earn a 3.3 cumulative GPA by the end of each academic year, fulfill all program requirements, and demonstrate a commitment to assuming leadership roles at Babson. For more information, including application instructions, visit www.babson.edu/weissman.
Women’s Leadership Awards Women’s Leadership Awards are offered to high-potential women applicants based on demonstrated leadership and academic achievement. These four-year scholarships are valued at one-quarter tuition. Babson alumnae are actively involved in the scholarship selection process and serve as mentors for the women who receive the award.
Candidates for the Women’s Leadership Award are selected based on admission application materials. The strongest admission candidates will be invited to campus to interview for the Women’s Leadership Award. This invitation to interview for the award will be extended along with the offer of admission to the College. The leadership interview will weigh heavily in the final selection for the award. We expect approximately 20 new Women’s Leadership Award recipients to enroll each year. | Undergraduate Admission |
