The Thought Leadership Conference held during April 24-26, 2008 at Babson College, Boston, MA. This conference seeks to address the paramount issue of ‘Customer Experience Management in Retailing’

Babson’s Retail Supply Chain Thought Leadership Conference was held on April 24th to 26th on the Babson campus.  On Friday morning approximately 120 Marketing scholars from around the world, Babson alumna, faculty and students attended an exciting session in which (in order of appearance) Dhruv Grewal, Co-Chair, William Dankworth, VP Grocery Merchandising/DSD, Kroger, Michael Levy, Co-Chair, Leonard Schlesinger, Babson President-elect (former COO of Limited Brands), Robert Price, CMO,CVS, Geoff Atkinson, VP Tactical Marketing, Overstock.com, Britt Hackmann.  Babson professors Dhruv Grewal and Michael Levy, and Professor V. Kumar (UCONN) served as conference chairs.

The Retail Supply Chain Institute

The Institute's mission is to be a conduit for research and education between students, retailers, and their suppliers of merchandise, services, and information.

  • Undergraduate Concentration
    Retail and Supply Chain Management is a multi-disciplinary concentration at Babson College.  Its goals are to:
    • Prepare students for careers in retailing and supply chain management
    • Retail intelligence
    • Management consulting to retailers and their suppliers, service industries, sales and product management for consumer products, and family-owned retail enterprises
  • Faculty
    The affiliated Faculty come from five divisions at Babson College: 
    • Marketing 
    • TOIM (Technology, Operations and Information Management)
    • Entrepreneurship
    • Math and Science 
    • Management  

All are experts in their own area, they bring a rich confluence of information and practical experience that facilitates an integrated learning experience. 

  • Executive Education
    Firms can tap the expertise of faculty and experts in the industry to help solve real problems and conduct training seminars and executive education.  Programs are custom designed to meet the needs of each firm.
  • Career Placement
    In conjunction with the Center for Career Development, the Institute's Director, affiliated Faculty, and Center Staff act as a liaison and facilitator between students and corporate affiliates for internships, independent studies, and full-time positions.
