Babson  >  ESHIP  >  STEP  >  Participating Families  >  Participation

We are studying mid- to large-sized business families who have at least one core operating company in their portfolio of businesses and investments. To participate in the STEP Project families must agree to allow researchers to conduct a confidential case analysis of their business family and to have family members and managers fill out a survey.

Participant families receive a feedback report and access to the ongoing results from the study. They are also invited to exclusive events, including an annual regional Summit, with other families who are participating in the study.

The STEP Project is a global consortium of leading academic institutions. Families participate in the STEP Project through an academic at a regional university, but they have access to the expertise, networking and results from a global network of institutions.

Peter Pohlmann – POCO
"I learned a lot from the experiences of the family businesses who participated in the Summit. The similarity in the values that we all share was especially interesting to me."

The STEP Project for Family Enterprising is the first global research study to focus on entrepreneurship in business families. For further information regarding STEP, please contact STEP@babson.edu.
