Finance for Today’s Nonfinancial Professionals is a hands-on program that presents and explains financial data in practical, real-world terms, giving you the functional financial knowledge needed to create better solutions to company challenges, improve interdepartmental communication, take on more strategic responsibility, and create new opportunities for your organization.
Every industry has financial metrics that matter more to them than others, so we’ll help you identify which metrics are especially important to your organization and give you the financial tools you need to apply that information in relevant ways.

What You Will Learn
In an interactive setting made up of peers from a variety of industries, you will learn to:
- Read and leverage financial reports and data, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash-flow statements
- Assess the profitability and costs of projects, products, innovations, and initiatives to make better investment decisions
- Use your financial knowledge to improve planning, budgeting, and valuation
- Understand financial language and communicate with financial colleagues to gain insight into your organization’s performance
In addition to increasing your understanding of essential financial tools, you’ll receive a custom consultation that will put your organization’s strategy into financial terms, empowering you to collaborate with financial colleagues for better decision making.
Who Should Enroll
This program is designed for nonfinancial mid- and senior-level professionals in any industry or organization, and attracts a varied mix of participants, including vice presidents of operations, sales representatives, product managers, directors of marketing, systems engineers, and more.
Your Faculty Director
The program is led by Victoria Sassine, an adjunct lecturer in Babson’s Finance Division who teaches Strategic Corporate Finance and Option Theory at the graduate level and various courses at Babson Executive Education. Her expertise is in corporate finance, corporate strategy, and practical applications of financial tools. She has worked in strategic financial management positions in a variety of industries, including biotechnology (Biogen Idec), consumer products (Kraft Foods, Phillip Morris), and petrochemical (Royal Dutch Shell Oil). She also serves on the boards of several nonprofit organizations. Sassine earned her BSBA from Kansas State University, her MBA from the University of Chicago, and is a CPA.
Cost includes program materials and meals at the award-winning Babson Executive Conference Center. If you need accomdations, you can book a room at the Babson Executive Conference Center. All participants receive a certificate of completion.
Each session has a limited number of participants to preserve the intimacy and collegiality of the experience. Applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
