 Request a book from the WEBnet Consortium
WEBnet is a consortium of the Babson, Olin, Pine Manor, and Regis College libraries. Note: If you would like a book from Bentley, you now need to request it through Interlibrary Loan. Babson students, faculty and staff with a Babson OneCard may request delivery of books to the Horn Library Information Desk via the library catalog. The Babson OneCard can also be used to check books out at the other libraries. Alumni and visitors may request Babson owned books via the library catalog. Request a book through the library catalog: - Search for the book in the Library Catalog;
- Click the “Details” button for the book you’d like to request (if given a search results list);
- Click the “Hold” link in the box on the the left-hand side under the "Keep" button;
- Enter your Library ID and PIN information and click “Place Hold”;
- Students, Faculty, Staff: Library ID is the LIB number on your Babson OneCard;
- Alumni: Library ID is the barcode on the back of your Alumni ID;
- Visitors: Library ID is the barcode on the back of your Library card.
- PIN: Your PIN is emailed to you each semester. You can also get your PIN by bringing your Babson OneCard to the Information Desk or sending an email request from your Babson account to library@babson.edu.
You will receive an email when the book has arrived. Please allow 2-5 days for delivery. Please note: Requests cannot be placed on periodicals or audio/visual materials.
 Interlibrary Loan Students, faculty and staff can obtain books not owned by the WEBnet consortium or photocopies of articles free of charge. Before placing an Interlibrary Loan request, please check: - Books: Library Catalog. If found, place a request using the steps outlined in the "Request a book from the WEBnet Consortium" section. If not found, place an Interlibrary Loan request for the book.
- Articles: Online Journal Finder. Search for the journal to see what subscription databases contain the full text. Then search the database for the article to retrieve it immediately. If the journal isn't available online, then place an Interlibrary Loan request for the article.
To place an Interlibrary Loan request log into the Interlibrary Loan system. (A link to the system is also available from the main menu of the Library web site.) The following types of materials are often not available for borrowing: reference books (dictionaries, directories, encyclopedias, concordances, statistical compilations, etc.), market research reports, software etc. Replacement costs for materials lost or not returned are the responsibility of the borrower. Alumni and visitors should use their local public library, corporate library or commercial document delivery services to obtain books and articles not at Babson.
