Basic Steps
Choose content below the search box and type in search terms. When changing the red menu button, narrow search by choosing categories in right-hand column. To return to the home screen, click on Start (upper right). A General/Easy Search is appropriate for new searchers, while a General/Power Search provides more connector and section selections for the more experienced searcher desirous of greater precision.

 Company Financial Information
Select Business (top red menu bar). Click on categories in right-hand column for additional choices. Access Company Dossier selections, in addition to Company Profiles, SEC Filings, Accounting and Country Profiles. Company Profiles (searchable by company name, ticker, or SIC code) - US Public and Private company directories - InfoUSA and other company directories and reports
- Various international company directories and reports
- Bankruptcy Reports: news clips and data from the Bankruptcy DataSource
- Hoover's Company Reports: same as Hoovers.com
- Standard and Poor's Corporate Descriptions + News: provides debt, stock, financials and brief 3-yr historical Compustat data and financial statements
NOTE: With some of the tables in the financials section, you may have to cut and paste into Word and format with 18, 10, or 12 point Courier font to have the data line up correctly. You can also save and import the data into Excel format. Company Financials Disclosure Reports: same as Worldscope and Compact/Disclosure, with financial information on US and global public companies. NAARS - Annual Reports from 1972-1995: Audited reports
SEC Filings and Reports - includes Annual Report to Shareholders (in text format with no images). Securities and Exchange Commission filings such as 10-K (some back to 1987), 10-Q, 8-K, 20-F (foreign companies traded in U.S.), proxy statements, prospectuses, and registration statements plus Williams Acts filings. |

Segment or Field Searching Databases use different codes to allow you to search by specific field. This can help to narrow your search to a specific publication, author, or date. In LexisNexis Academic, use Guided Search for a form based menu which allows you to do a more precise search. |

Note: For additional fields or sections, in Power Search, click on the Show link (above date box). Searching an Individual Publication/Title To search a single publication/title: - Click on Sources tab and next on Find Sources (in tool bar).
- Select Source Name (A-Z).
- Choose a letter of the alphabet to browse.
- The i-page icon preceding a title provides individual publication information.
Select desired publication from list. - Click on red OK (at far right of screen).
- You are now ready to search for articles only in this particular publication.
 Viewing & Printing Options
Click the desired title to view the full text document. Search terms will appear in bold text. When viewing the full text of a document, Keywords in Context can be easily seen by pulling down and setting the view box to KWIC. Mark documents for printing (or downloading or emailing or exporting to the bibliographic software Ref Works). Initiate printing (or selected transmission mode) by clicking on the appropriate icon (at far right above search results).
In addition, you can print, download or email when in the full text view. |
