Basic Steps
Working Papers There are four ways to look up working papers: - Search by Keyword: author, title, abstract, or number.
- Browse recent titles.
- View titles arranged by JEL Class (Indexing by "Journal of Economic Literature" classification)
- View titles arranged by NBER Program (Under program by issue date, most recent first)
Data Click on the data tab on the top toolbar and then choose a category, such as "NBER Data Collections" or "Business Cycle Dates." Data sets include: macro, industry, international trade, individual (such as vital statistics), hospital, patent, and other data (tax, etc). |
 Viewing, Printing & Saving Options
Viewing: On your search results, the title or paper number will link you to an abstract of the paper. When viewing the abstract, find the link to view a PDF file at the top or bottom of the screen. Note: If the full text or page image is not available, request a copy through Horn Library's Interlibrary Loan Service. Downloading: Be sure to use the small icons on the Adobe Acrobat window to print or save the paper. The file name should have the extension .pdf. |

The National Bureau of Economic Research is a private, nonprofit, nonpartisan research organization dedicated to promoting a greater understanding of how the economy works. Their research is conducted by more than 600 university professors around the country, the leading scholars in their fields. NBER researchers initially report their findings in scientific papers aimed at other professional economists in academic institutions, business, government, and the business media around the world. Nearly 500 NBER Working Papers are published each year, and many subsequently appear in scholarly journals. |
