Basic Steps

By Firm Name: In the Select Search Type main menu, click on Firm Name. The Search by Firm Name window will appear. Type in the name of the firm you would like to search in the blank field. Click on Search. If there is a match, the Galante's Directory on Disk window will come up. Click on the Expand All Button to view all your search results. By clicking on the firm name that matches your search, the following information will be displayed about the company: Information on only the firm's main office The firm's key personnel The overview of the firm Investment pace & policies Investment criteria Investment funds Description of firm's focus and objective By Investment Criteria: In the Select Search Type main menu, click on Investment Criteria. The Search Criteria window will appear. This search type will allow you to pick a firm that matches your specific search criterias. You can: Click on the Firm tab to specify a firm's office location by city, state, or country. Click on the Background tab to specify a firm's capital under management, activity level, type of firm, or association. Click on the Investments tab to specify a firm's investment size, buyout transaction size, means of compensation, syndication policy, type of capital, or funding stage preference. Click on the Geography & Industry tab to specify a firm's geographic preference or industry preference. After choosing all your criterias, click on Search. If there is a match, the Galante's Directory on Disk window will come up. Click on the Expand All Button to view all your search results. By clicking on the firm name that matches your search, the following information will be displayed about the company: Information on only the firm's main office The firm's key personnel The overview of the firm Investment pace & policies Investment criteria Investment funds Description of firm's focus and objective By Saved Search: In the Select Search Type main menu, click on Saved Search. The Saved Search window will appear. Click the saved name you want to search. Then click on Search. If there is a match, the Galante's Directory on Disk window will come up. Click on the Expand All Button to view all your search results. By clicking on the firm name that matches your search, the following information will be displayed about the company: Information on only the firm's main office The firm's key personnel The overview of the firm Investment pace & policies Investment criteria Investment funds Description of firm's focus and objective By Person's Name: In the Select Search Type main menu, click on Person's Name. The Find Person window will appear. Type in any part of a person's name that you would like to search. Click on Find. If there were any matches to your person's name, the Galante's Directory on Disk menu will appear. Click on the Expand All Button to view all your search results. By clicking on the name that matches your search, the person's background information will be displayed.

Creating Reports

Click on Reports in the top menu, then click on either: Quick List to make a report listing all your search results. Rankings to make a report ranking all your search results by total capital managed. * Note: You can't make reports when searching by person's name.

Viewing, Printing & Saving Options

To Print: Click on File in the Galante's tool bar Click Print Ensure the correct printer is chosen Click OK To Save: You can export contact names from this database, but not the entire records unless "cut & paste" individual records into Word. Multiple records can be viewed under the Reports, Quick List or Rankings option. Rankings is a listing by capital under management. To export contact names into Excel format, choose Tools, Export persons then browse to the local computer to save your file. Save your search by clicking on Search in the top menu, then click Save Search. Type in the search name and click OK. * Note: You can't save when searching by person's name.
