Personal Development

WE’RE ALL LEARNING.
WE’RE ALL BABSON.

Babson is a learning environment. It’s at the heart of everything we do. We have a ferocious appetite for new ideas, a constant wish to engage with new thinking and to explore new avenues in learning, education, and business.

In the same way that we support our students to learn and develop, we support and invest in our employees, too. It’s key to our success. As a world-class college, we need our people to set the tempo, becoming the learning pioneers who seek out new approaches, advocate continuous learning, and lead by example when it comes to owning and driving personal development.

Continuous Learning is one of Babson’s six core competencies, so we place great importance on the ongoing development of our employees. The College’s continuous learning objective is to provide opportunities that enhance near-term job performance, employee engagement, and achievement of career goals; and the Organizational Learning and Development department provides a variety of services to promote employees’ personal and professional growth. Employees and supervisors are encouraged to take an active role in identifying and pursuing opportunities on and off campus to sustain continued learning.

In addition to offering a variety of skills training workshops for employees at all levels, Babson also highlights its commitment to continuous learning through our semiannual Community Learning Day which represents a unique design and approach to workplace learning by giving all Babson College faculty and staff the opportunity to invest in professional and personal development and connect, grow, and give back to the community.

Continuous Learning generally refers to workshops or seminars offered to teach specific skills or knowledge, or opportunities that allow employees to develop personally.

Organizational Development refers to a systematic approach to improving individual, group and/or organizational effectiveness.

For a listing of continuous learning opportunities, visit the Babson Calendar.

The Leonard A. At this event, the Schlesinger Fund is partnering with the National Association for the Advancement of Haitian Professionals (NAAHP), USAID PADF and other organizations to host a brainstorm event around the Diaspora Challenge Initiative. The Diaspora Challenge Initiative is soliciting ideas from the Haitian Diaspora about ways to harness the power of remittances and other capital to support Haiti's development agenda. The Schlesinger Fund is inviting the Babson and greater Boston communities to gather together, to learn about the healthcare challenges that exist in Haiti particularly after Hurricane Matthew, and to put their minds to work using the ET&A methodology around Haitian-led ideas for economic development in Haiti related to healthcare delivery.
Registration encouraged: http://bit.ly/GHEHaitiHack
