Registered Student Businesses

Babson College encourages all students to experience entrepreneurship by starting a business venture during their time at Babson. These student-run businesses are considered a co-curricular activity (excluding FME), but receive much support from the college through the Babson Chamber of Commerce.

The college requires that all student businesses get licensed before they can officially operate on campus, but this process is quick and easy. You can do it right on their website at http://chamber.babson.edu. This is a two-step process, as your application must be approved by the Chamber and the Office of Campus Life.

Registering a business with the Babson Chamber of Commerce has major benefits. Among these are (on a first-come first-served basis):

  • Access to our all-inclusive online resource center
  • Superior “customer service” provided by your peers
  • Prioritized access to general resources on campus
  • Free office space in the Forest Annex Hall
  • Campus mailbox for your business (to serve as a "PO Box")
  • Approval to advertise on campus: flyers and banners around campus, and ugrad e-mails
  • Special deals on off-campus marketing
  • Free legal workshops and accounting workshops
  • Exclusive networking events (we will invite you to join us for roundtables with special guests)
  • QuickBooks Online Plus for 13 months
  • Microsoft software: Accounting Professional, Project Professional, Visio Professional, Expression Studio 2, Communicator, Groove, InfoPath, Virtual PC, SQL Server Developer/Workgroup Editions, Visual Studio Professional/Team Editions, Windows Server 2008, Windows Vista Business
