Course Guide

As a general rule, before choosing any of your courses, we recommend that you identify and talk with the experts – faculty, alumni, staff, execs-in-residence, and professional contacts - in your chosen field to see which skills are most important.

When choosing courses, we recommend that you:

  • Review the Course Guides for the other career contexts because there may be some overlap with your interests:

Ø       Consulting & Professional Services

Ø       Consumer Products

Ø       Entrepreneurship

Ø       Financial Services

Ø       Technology Intensive Enterprises

  • Remember to take 3-credits from among the capstone course offerings. See the MBA Student Handbook for more information about capstone courses.
  • Check the course announcements posted by the Registrar under Graduate Registration Information. There may be specialty courses and intensive electives that are focused on your area of interest. However, these courses may or may not be offered every semester because of faculty schedules and student demand. Plan accordingly!
  • Consider using some of your elective credits to work directly with a company in your areas of interest or develop your project management skills. To learn more about your options, go to Field-Based Experience.
  • Talk with a faculty member about your options for an independent study.
