When should students begin to access CCD?
We believe that career development is an ongoing educational process and we welcome students and alumni at all stages of their career development process. As a result, we invite students to access our services as early as their first year.
How do students learn about career services and programs?
Students are formally introduced to the Center for Career Development (CCD) resources in the second semester of their first year as part of the Coaching for Leadership & Teamwork Program. A more detailed explanation of services and resources is presented to students in the sophomore year as part of the IME (Intermediate Management Experience), OEM (Organizing for Effective Management), and MCE (Managing in a Competitive Environment) curriculum. In the IME, MCE, OEM classes as well as in the upper electives, faculty are instrumental in reinforcing the message about the importance of career development.
In addition, students learn about services and programs through multiple venues, including Babson Free Press, the weekly student newspaper, flyers posted around campus about upcoming events, and weekly email announcements. Email announcements also provide students with information about internship and job application deadlines.
