The CCD:Faculty/Administrator Partnership Ways You Can Support CCD
As faculty and administrators, you are essential partners in support of our students' career development. Below are several strategies for collaborating with CCD.
- Encourage students to use CCD services early in their educational experience. The Babson curriculum, including FME, IME, OEM, MCE and MCFE projects, provide valuable, hands-on experience. Career advisors can guide students to reflect on these experiences and to create a framework for achieving their career goals.
- Advise students to take full advantage of CCD services:
Counseling and coaching sessions, - Career assessment tools (e.g. Myers Briggs Type Indicator)
- Career education programs,
- Online and printed career resources, and
- Internship and full-time recruitment opportunities, including Career Expo and the On-Campus Recruiting Program.
Promote career programs in your classes as a way to encourage student attendance at events.
Invite career staff to your classes to facilitate presentations designed to introduce students to CCD services or internship/job search topics, including resume development and interview strategies. In addition, you may also invite employers and alumni to your classes as one resource for reinforcing theory and informing practice.
Share position announcements for job and internship opportunities with CCD via email (undergradccd@babson.edu). In this way, CCD can increase the number of career opportunities available to students through Babson Career Connections.
Ways CCD Supports You
In addition to seeking your support, CCD provides numerous resources to faculty and members of the Babson Community. Employer Connections
Employers are often interested in meeting with faculty to learn more about Babson’s curriculum and particular disciplines. During the recruiting season, the CCD staff invites faculty members to join us for lunch to meet with employers and deepen these relationships.
In addition, employers welcome opportunities to participate in class presentations and discussions. These presentations and class visits can enhance classroom learning. CCD can help facilitate mutual interest between faculty and employers to achieve desired learning outcomes for our students.
