The Arts
What? The arts at a business college? Of course - because our students are creative; entrepeneurs are thinkers. Art is a great outlet; it makes you think and it makes you feel. It expands your world and opens your mind. So, yes, we have a good bit of art at Babson.

And it's not just there to observe, it's there to do! Like being center-stage? Try out for a production with the Babson Players, TheatreWorks or the Improv Comedy Troupe. They put on shows twice a year. Got rhythm? Maybe the Dance Ensemble can use you. Like to sing? Try out for the Babson Olin Community Chorus. Play jazz or chamber music in high school? Then join the Babson Jazz Ensemble or Chamber group. Know a little magic, write poetry, or play pop music? Amaze them at the Annual Talent Show. And that's just the performing arts!

Perhaps you want to try your hand or continue an interest in the visual arts. The Sorenson Family Visual Arts Center opened in Fall 2001 with a ceramics/sculpture studio, a photography lab, artist-in-residence studio, digital art lab, a drawing/painting studio, and a gallery for student art exhibits.

If you prefer the audience to the stage, there's plenty for you as well. Once or twice a month, the Guest Artist Series brings visiting artists - dancers, a ccappella groups, classic and contemporary drama, orchestral and modern chamber music, films, poets and writers - to the Carling- Sorenson Theater in the Sorenson Center for the Performing Arts. The Carling-Sorenson Theater is an amazing facility, with state-of-the-art lighting, sound and projection systems.
